SCIENCE THEATRE
The 32nd IGC will provide facilities for the presentation of scientific
videos and multimedia products dealing with all branches of the Earth
Sciences.
By the end of April more than 25 participants have contacted the organization.
Scientific and other organizations, as well as individual members,
wishing to present films, videotapes or DVD, are invited to contact
Teodoro Mercuri. The requests will also be accepted on site, if possible.
Films will run continuously from 21 August through 27 August from
9.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 16.30 in the “Teatrino Lorenese”
at the Fortezza da Basso.
FIRST INTERNATIONAL EARTH SCIENCE FILM-FESTIVAL
This Festival is devoted to scientific, and teaching-aid videos and
multimedia products, in the field of Earth Sciences.
It is promoted and supported by OGS (Trieste) and CNR-IRPI-RCS (Cosenza).
More than 50 professional film directors and geoscientists from all
over the world have submitted their productions.
The Earth Science Film-Festival will assign prizes and awards to the
best authors, film directors and productions in all geological disciplines.
An international jury will decide the nominations of the best films
in Florence during the Congress. The conclusive ceremony will be held
in October 2004.
